The Mission of Benedict House
The mission of Benedict House is to provide non-discriminatory residential housing opportunities and supportive services for persons living with AIDS in an environment promoting the principles of dignity, respect, understanding, compassion and self-determination. July 1, 1994

The Fundamental Beliefs of Benedict House
1.  We believe that all people are equally entitled to quality care which provides opportunities for physical, emotional and spiritual support.
2.  We believe that all people have the right to live and die with dignity and to be treated with compassion and understanding.
3.  We believe in the need to be informed and articulate about AIDS in order to promote knowledge, understanding, acceptance and compassion for persons living with AIDS.
4.  We believe in residential rather than institutional environments for persons living with AIDS.
5.  We believe that people have the responsibility to share their talents and strengths with others.
6.  We believe that having AIDS or how one acquired AIDS must not be a basis for discriminating against individuals.
7.  We believe in promoting self-determination.
